Student Assessment Task
Task:
Students will create a magazine cover using bighugelabs.com that displays the various ways that Mexican Americans opposed prejudice and oppression in the late 1940's.
Requirements:
1 Log into bighugelabs.com and create a free account by following the prompts.
2 Select "Magazine Cover" as your template under "All Toys, Games, and Utillities."
3 Create a title for your magazine. This title can represent one of the various Mexican American groups of the time. Example: "The American GI Forum Newsletter" You can also make up your own creative name.
4 Design headlines that describe Mexican Americans opposing discrimination during the 1940's. Use your knowledge from the primary documents. Create at least 3 headlines. Example: "Dr. Garcia and the AGIF prompt LBJ to act!"
5 Surf the web for an image that represents one or all of your headlines. This will be the background picture for magazine cover. Upload the file under the "choose a file to upload" tab.
6 Click "Create" to show what the magazine cover looks like. If you are satisfied, save the file to your desktop.
